Machu Picchu, the Inca citadel situated on a mountain ridge 7,970 ft above sea level. Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. Its three primary structures are the Inti Watana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows. Most of the outlying buildings have been reconstructed in order to give tourists a better idea of how they originally appeared.[4] By 1976, thirty percent of Machu Picchu had been restored and restoration continues.
This full day tour will begin picking you up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley to take you to the train station. It’s a 2 1/2 hrs ride arriving to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will meet your guide. From there a minibus will take you up to the Ruins, to walk it’s narrow streets, climb it’s rock strewn stairways and learn the secrets of this ancient civilization. In the afternoon train ride back to Cusco unto your hotel.
